Aroma Balls

The Aromatic Touch

You don't have to wait for the Holiday seasons to enjoy a familiar and pleasing aroma in your home. Get creative and make it a part of your everyday décor.

For those who find magic in the aroma of coffee

This approach takes a little more work than typical aroma jars, but I think its worth it.

Amaretto Beans
Initially I used all regular coffee beans, but this newer creation I did with Amaretto Beans. Gives a slightly fruitier coffee aroma.

Foam Ball & Glue Gun
Purchase a foam ball in the size you would like to work with. With a hot glue gun just start gluing the beans onto the ball.

Texture Preference
Gluing the beans face-up or face-down doesn't really matter. Just depends on what kind of surface texture you prefer... one side is smooth and the other is not.

Slow But Sure
Continue fitting the beans into each other until the ball is covered. Towards the end I did have to cut a few beans to fit them into remaining gaps. While working on the ball for several days, I covered it with a bag to preserve the aroma within.

Finished
Wicker basket display on a table. I did vary the balls... some beans are coffee and some are black-eyed peas (no aroma, but give some visual contrast). I also varied the ball sizes, again for contrast.

I made this display for my sister more than two years ago and she still catches a waft of the coffee aroma as she walks by.
